Guess What: Morphological species- and gender-specific peculiarities of laboratory animals
Following the evaluation of the recent survey and discussions on the format, you will find here "The New Guess What!". In first line, this interactive section of the ESTP website is meant to help residents in veterinary pathology and beginners in toxicopathology to learn about the morphological differences of certain organs in laboratory animals, especially of rodents and to prepare for a successful board-examination. Examples will be presented in a loosely order and announced on the ESTP homepage and in LinkedIn.

In a first step, the normal structure and anatomical features of the respective organ(s) will be presented, and their correct assignment can be immediately checked by clicking on the "Continue to see the answer" button. After the next notification, you will learn about frequent background lesions, and occasionally also about consecutive alterations that might occur in long-term studies, and find their current INHAND terms. Finally, at the end of each chapter you will find a synopsis of the most important facts that you should know.
All chapters of the "The New Guess What!" will be collected on the web page to be viewed at a later time-point. Of course, the previous 31 cases of Guess What! will remain available on the ESTP Web site also for the future to serve as a repository for uncommon or rarely observed pathological findings (see Solution Overview).
Since we know about your limited and precious time, each of our examples should take no longer than a few minutes and thus, we hope that you enjoy "The New Guess What!" and find it useful.
