European Congress of Toxicologic Pathology 2003 |
|
The first European Congress of Toxicologic Pathology was held on September 25 27, 2003, in Hamburg, Germany. It celebrated the foundation of the European Society of Toxicologic Pathology (ESTP). More than 120 participants attended the key lectures, case presentations, free communications and poster presentations. The main focus was on male reproductive toxicity, covered by Dianne Creasy and Rex Hess. Both gave excellent talks and readily answered questions from the audience during a panel discussion. The congress began with a thorough introduction into regulatory aspects of toxicologic pathology, given by Jan-Willem van der Laan, and ended with a detailed presentation of spontaneous and substance-induced dental alterations, covered by Karl Donath, Heinrich Ernst and Matthias Rinke. More than 10 sponsors and multiple companies participating in an industry exhibition supported the congress and made it a wonderful event, which was complemented by a welcome reception in the Museum of Zoology and a congress banquet on board of the historic sailing vessel "Rickmer Rickmers".
The congress organization team would like to thank all sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and participants for their valuable contributions and we are looking forward to another wonderful meeting in Lindau in 2004.
